I am currently a Lecturer and Visiting Scholar in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Irvine. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar and Teaching Fellow in the Department of Political Science and International Relations (POIR) at the University of Southern California. I received my PhD from the Department of Political Science at Brown University in May of 2019. My research focuses on economic sanctions, international political economy, US foreign policy, and international relations theory. Currently, I am working on a book manuscript based on my dissertation,The Sources of US Trade Sanctions, which examines the international and domestic determinants of US-imposed economic sanctions.
I originally hail from Laguna Beach, CA, and received my BA in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In my spare time, I enjoy going on road trips with my wife and daughter, cooking, powerlifting, and supporting Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
